Axel Boman's acclaimed double album LUZ/Quest for Fire (2022) now gets a remix and dub treatment by one of Scandinavia's most prominent sound systems in reggae and beyond: Trensum Tribe. "Great, now they sound better than the originals," Axel said upon first hearing the remixed versions, immediately beginning—excitedly—to compile the best ones for an album. Deeply inspired since he was young by Mad Professor's work for Massive Attack (just listen to "No Protection" as an example), such a project had been a decades-long dream for Axel Boman.

There's a particular freedom that comes with the act of remixing: you can step outside yourself as a producer and take risks you might not in your own work. And Trensum Tribe truly embarked on a new and adventurous path in approaching this music. In this homage to sound system and rave culture, jungle, dub, disco, and house become best friends in front of a huge, handmade tower of speakers, standing tall in the cool mist of a Swedish forest on a chilly summer night.
