The unpredictable Swede Axel Boman makes his Aus Music debut with four spellbinding deep house gems.

Swedish artists pbeatgirl and Joakim Åhlund & Jockum Nordström guest with a collaboration each.

For nearly two decades Axel Boman has brought a playful and unique charm to the underground scene. His colourful and emotional sound blends whimsical melodies with warm, enveloping grooves, underpinned by a constant exploration and innovation in sound design, rhythm, and atmosphere. A co-founder of Studio Barnhus, Boman is an artist who can make you laugh and move you emotionally all at once – something he has demonstrated across over 20 EPs and four studio albums released on a selective range of labels. 2026 marks a new era with his first EP for Aus Music, a release that brings together everything that makes him so beloved and difficult to pigeonhole.

The journey begins with “Night Blooming,” featuring pbeatgirl, a prominent figure in the Swedish post-pop underground. This sultry late-night lullaby blends soft percussion with whispered words in your ear, as ethereal synths complete a perfect house hypnosis.

Next up, “Someone Stop Me” reduces the tempo but escalates the richness of textures through raw, rolling drum loops, delicate guitar plucks, and sustained pads that invite you to switch off and gaze into the distance on a summer afternoon.

“Svalor Radiosignal (Axel’s Dub)” features Joakim Åhlund, currently touring Australia with his band Les Big Byrd, as well as being guitarist, lead vocalist of Caesars, and a prolific producer. Also featured is acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Jockum Nordström, whose work spans painting, sculpture, and collage. Here, Boman’s signature innocence and naive charm come to the fore: delicate melodies floating over a deep, silky dub groove, leaving almost painterly trails that convey a sense of warmth and comfort.

The closer arrives with “Spooky,” a piece that moves into the darker hours of the night with a more restless and abrasive atmosphere. However, its beautiful mutant synths act as a gentle hand, guiding the listener softly into the dark.

This EP shows Axel Boman at his most intimate and expressive: a discreetly powerful work, perfect for moments of introspection and the warmth of after-hours sessions. 🎶✨🌙
