In March of this year, COD3 QR released a digital trio from DJ Deep, Avision, and Deetron. Now, June brings twice the material for the label’s first vinyl-exclusive release, with each artist bringing a second track to the record. As usual, the tracks have been curated by Laurent Garnier for the label whose motto is: Musical diversity is our strength!

Avision was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by New York’s rich club culture and was influenced by the sounds around him. He started young on the turntables at 12, secured his first residency at 15, and hasn’t looked back since. Around that time, he also started honing his production skills and developed a techno and house sound with a distinct New York flavor, evident in Hold No Groove and Talk Is Cheap. It’s a recognizable sound that has led to labels such as Cocoon, Ellum, Drumcode, and Hardgroove.

With over 20 years of experience making and playing music, Deetron is an artist confident in his ambitions and a skilled performer, maintaining a high level of quality in all aspects of his career: from mind-bending three-deck DJ sets to his special touch on remixes or his diverse range of productions. In 2014, he launched his own label, Character, but has also worked with labels such as Axis, Music Man, Subject Detroit, Running Back, Rekids, and more. Here he brings us the original sound of techno with Pulse, alongside the deeper Corazon.

DJ Deep started the party with What’s Going On, and now he follows it up with the hypnotic Transition. It’s no surprise to learn that he started playing clubs and raves in Paris in the late 80s/early 90s, including Laurent’s renowned Wake Up at the Rex. This respected and versatile DJ, producer, label boss, and party curator is equally at home behind the decks on large stages as he is mixing radio shows for Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM. As a producer, his acclaimed appearances on Rekids, Kaoz Theory, and Tresor, not to mention his own Deeply Rooted label, have showcased his imaginative approach to house and techno.
