Athlete Whippet's first outing on Toy Tonics, 2021's Vesta EP, offered an attractive fusion of deep Berlin house and colorful jazz-funk/jazz-fusion instrumentation. This follow-up continues in an equally vibrant vein, with the duo adding all kinds of vocal and instrumental samples, as well as a distinctive 80s boogie influence to their already characteristic multicolored sound. Across the four tracks, the duo confidently jumps between elastic, summery house ('Noguiera'), an exciting P-funk/nu-disco fusion (with throbbing electronic bass, bouncy synth sounds, dreamy chords, and polished machine rhythms on 'Mesmerise'), twisted boogie-house ('I Think I See') and a breakbeat-driven deep house/synth-funk fusion ('Slow Down').
