Dubstep or Not Dubstep?

Originally released in 2002, The Red EP was a bold fusion of techno and garage born from the mind of Artwork. Taking elements from his techno project “Grain” and the UK Garage sound he championed for years, this release laid the groundwork for what the world would soon call dubstep… or did it?

Broken beat / bruk pioneers, Bugz In The Attic, were constantly spinning Red in their sets, and even included this track on their “Fabriclive” mix CD in 2003, helping to give the EP even more visibility and skyrocketing its demand once again.

“The Red EP” had never been reissued until now, with second-hand copies reaching prices of up to £100 and rarely falling below £40.

John Kennedy, founder of Big Apple Records, brings us this long-awaited reissue, a must-buy even for those who already own the original. The reason? Artwork found an unreleased gem on a DAT tape and it is now incorporated into the release: “RELIC”.

It sounds incredibly powerful!

This summer, you're going to hear it everywhere again.

Limited edition on solid red vinyl.
