No one does minimal techno quite as well as the Romanians (barring a few notable exceptions), and that remains as true as ever in 2021 as Arapu here demonstrates. This sumptuous three tracker arrives via the Liniar label and opens with an epic 2-minute piece. It's built on subtle sine waves and abrasive sound effects, delicate melodic hooks and light, airy drums.

The Darkest digs deeper into the shadows and rolls on with a sharp pulse, incorporating eerie vocals and ghostly keys, while Expression sits somewhere in between. Its abstract electronic sound sources intermingle with a fluid groove that gets right under the skin.
