Moods & Grooves from Mike Grant is a label that delivers house as real as it gets. For their next installment, they cross the pond and set their sights on Andu Simion, DJ and producer from Ploiești, Romania, and co-founder of the Lisiere Collectif project. He makes a strong impression from the very first track: “Code Shot” kicks off with a bubbling bassline and crunchy kicks that exude an authentic Detroit essence. “Mikronium” is a more restrained and refined house potion, with gurgling synths moving through the mix over spare, tight drum hits. Distant synths evoke a cosmic immensity and turn the track into an intense journey, ideal for cozy back rooms. “Sugar Rush” closes with another cavernous spatial excursion, punctuated by kicks, alien motifs, and a slowly building sense of tension and suspense.
