Alton Miller’s previous appearance on Rawax’s Motor City Edition series, Amazed (2019), was a true gem, so this follow-up arrives with a fair amount of expectation. What’s presented here is a mix of sought-after cuts from his archives and previously unreleased material. In the former category we find the deep, spatial, and soulful deep house piece from 2002, Love Inside (Detroit Dub), and Higher (2009), with its subtle Latin twist and Ron Trent-esque melodic warmth. On the other hand, Chari is a delightful slice of sun-drenched, summer-ready deep house with colorful chords and kaleidoscopic melodic lines, while Mocasays delivers a near-perfect blend of raw, tech-tinged grooves, sustained chords, and brilliant piano riffs.
