Altern 8 - Frequency 2025 [Network Records]

Crossover brat pack stars, Charlie XCX, loved Altern 8's generational rave anthem, FREQUENCY, so much that they not only sampled it for their scorching 365 remix, but also opened their live shows with said remix.

The renewed interest in FREQUENCY has resulted in four remixes in 2025 of this gem, originally released in 1991 as a numbered limited edition of 10,001 copies. It sold out immediately and is now recognized as one of the most enduring classics of the rave scene.

Altern 8's Mark Archer teams up with long-time collaborator Shadow Child for the A1 M.A.S.C Extended Remix, which delves into the harder layers of house. The A2 is handled by Tenerife DJ Jonay, who delivers an impressive breakbeat mix with a clear old skool influence. The A3 is the Aires remix, specially made for Altern 8's appearance at Glastonbury and several other summer festivals, where it was a real blast. The A4, Kin's Back To 91 Remix, fully immerses itself in drum & bass.

The label artwork is a “tribute” to Charlie XCX's graphics: the samplers were sampled and the compliment was returned. Limited edition vinyl.
