Alan Fitzpatrick returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘Immortal Daydream’.

Following 2020’s ‘Step Away’ on Rekids, plus multiple releases on high calibre labels such as Drumcode, Hotflush and of course his own We Are The Brave, Alan Fitzpatrick returns in full techno mode for his second appearance on the imprint in 2021 with an uncompromising, hypnotic and banging techno EP.

Classic 909 kits and spacey reverbs take centre stage throughout the record, clearly present in the lead track ‘Everlasting’ which kicks off proceedings with an array of sparkling effects and thumping dub chords. ‘Titan Silence’ follows with restrained synthesisers delicately built around thundering, striking drums; a track engineered for dark, cavernous rooms.

On the B-side, ‘Droid Disco’ sees the Southampton powerhouse exploring the darker hours, with jagged synths constantly twisting and evolving, giving way to closing track ‘The Underdog’ where Fitzpatrick delves further into the night, combining crunchy drums with slick, smooth synthesis to close out a memorable 12” on an essential label.
