Colours Revisited, a reinterpretation of Adam F’s MOBO-winning 1997 debut album, is a story of musical rebirth and passion. Noticing that Colours had captured a new audience—partly thanks to artists like PinkPantheress—Adam decided to recreate it from scratch. Instead of simply remastering, he spent two years redoing the album: he restored vintage instruments like his Fender Rhodes piano and brought in British jazz legends like Julian Joseph. Vocalists such as Kirsty Hawkshaw and the late MC Conrad re-recorded their parts, while world-class musicians added new solos.

"Colours holds a special place in my heart; it was my first solo album and an opportunity to collaborate with diverse talents," says Adam, who worked with figures like Dave Ital (guitar), Julian Joseph (keyboards), MC Conrad, Roni Jordan, Tim Philbert, Greg Leicester, and MC MC, among others.

"We were nominated for Album of the Year at the MOBOs alongside artists like Hinda Hicks, Des’ree, Lighthouse Family, and Massive Attack. I was so sure we wouldn't win that I didn't prepare a speech," he recalls. Colours also entered the UK national Top 20 chart, and Metropolis was named Track of the Year at the Underground Awards. Music In My Mind was inspired by Herbie Hancock tracks like Rockit and I Thought It Was You.

"In 2020, I never imagined returning to Colours, but the interest came back." The new album combines live instrumental energy with British electronic music and the 80s jazz fusion present in the original, not only updating the album but also deepening its legacy and influence. An essential work that pays homage to a pillar of British electronic music history.
