40 Thieves feat Qzen - Don't Turn It Off [Permanent Vacation]

The classic version of Hot Chocolate’s “Don’t Turn It Off” by San Francisco’s 40 Thieves first came out in 2008, though it has reappeared at various points since with new remixes. Now Permanent Vacation, the label that originally released it all those years ago, revisits it once more. The original Bay Area collective's mix (B2) remains a 21st-century disco classic: a dub disco remake with cosmic synths and elegant female vocals. Meanwhile, the new remixes really take it to different places. Session Victim offer two versions: a charmingly deep house “Extended Mix” with Balearic touches and a more sunset-suited “Dub” version. Then Studio Barnhus’s Bella Boo re-imagines it as an enamored, spacey mix of nu-disco and electronic house with a vibrant beat.
