Challenging new faces to fill out the label’s sound, Fuga VI is another focused compilation that balances spatial detail and rhythmic might.

Skipping any intro to dive straight into the compilation’s essence, Skjöld portrays Forbidden City as a tense aquatic exploration. With pressure in the bass, it keeps the track alive by conjuring dark pads that give dimension and intrigue to an already nervous tune. This persistence is quickly met with weight; Tapefeed’s Residual Memory follows to explore the label’s more aggressive side. Filled with mechanical sound design bordering on industrial, duo Tapefeed builds a dancefloor-dominating energy, standing out for its full-on approach. The density of this second track flows smoothly into Stephen Disario’s Out Of Tune, a percussion-focused track with scattered textures. The LA producer puts hi-hats brutally upfront to cut through the space, finding a remarkable balance between its two sides and exploiting their confrontation.

Returning to the label’s recognizable resonance, Merino steps in with Memoria, a 5-minute maniac synth loop with minimal percussion. Working in restraint and dissonance, Merino naturally finds his spot on Fuga VI with this track before returning to JSPRV35’s peak time paranoia in Question. Building intensity and running through vintage percussion lines, Question is an extroverted homage to techno’s origins that reflects style. The track eases its way through the compilation’s middle, bouncing the beat over a sharp bass line with thundering claps and snares.

Terminus’ Catch 22 restores balance with minimalism yet maintains the pace. A hypnotic break in the latter half is sure to entrance dancers and home listeners alike. Choppy hi-hats cut throughout Catch 22 to drive the track, keeping the harmony low and the focus on movement. In a similar tempo, Sanna Mun follows with Binary Systems, a speedy ride over an acid-like bassline; its rhythm is obsessive and persistent as we come to the compilation’s conclusion.

Fuga VI comes full circle with a haunting track from Mode_1 called Lifespan, stretching time and moving through tunnels with powerful toms and shuffled hi-hats. Keeping the pressure high and retaining that never-ending energy is the only way to close such a high-intensity release, and Mode_1 pulls it off perfectly.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0583/1239/2867/files/image_9dbc0abe-13b5-47ce-8c1b-48ec4a9927a7.png?v=1755905309
