Limited stock.

Stop. Rewind. We travel to Hamburg, Germany, in the mid-2000s. Originally released by Donna Maya – now head of Sound Sister Records and back then operating under the defunct alias DJ Da Cut – and later managed together with baze.djunkiii of Intrauterin Recordings, the Rudel Records label was a completely independent, though relatively short-lived, creative operation based on a lasting friendship and a shared passion for Bass Music, Drum’n’Bass, and a little Hip Hop. Distributed entirely independently through their own website, at events, and in a few local stores, the label ceased operations after a while, as its core duo went their separate musical ways over the next 17 years, without losing contact or the original bond.

Fast forward to the present. Year 2025. With both protagonists still active in music and a few boxes of the label's second release – an experimental Drum’n’Bass / DarkJungle-leaning split 12” – found and rediscovered in a forgotten Berlin basement, we are happy to put this lost record back into circulation for a new generation of DJs and music lovers, officially distributed for the first time since its original release in January 2008.

Original release information:

Ostinato – Antiaircraft (Damp Silence After Summer Rain RMX by baze.djunkiii & DJ Da Cut)
A track for advanced Drum’n’Bass DJs and lovers of more experimental sounds. This remix of US post-rock band OSTINATO, by the label heads, perfectly transforms the hypnotic approach of the original track – released in 2006 on the album Chasing The Form – into a dancefloor-ready version. It starts with a half-time loop courtesy of drummer Matthew Clark, accompanied by enveloping soundscape-like chords, then drops into classic Jungle beats with good pace and plenty of energy. Everything builds as the track unfurls psychedelic, hypnotic guitar work over filtered sounds that seem to stretch on forever, until everything gets a bit more technical. At the end there's a big surprise… which we prefer not to reveal yet.

DJ Da Cut – Fake Democracy (Rattlesnake MX)
DJ Da Cut's solo track, Fake Democracy (Rattlesnake MX), begins with half-time shuffle rhythms and a seductive offbeat line, until crunchy bass lines and an avalanche of ultra-charged percussion and filtered sounds unleash the storm on the dancefloor. Suddenly, a brief breakdown gives way to a skillfully played melody by bassist Kazoo, just before everything gets even darker and the true final explosion begins.
