The first three parts featured collaborations from Austin Ato, Brillstein, Harvard Bass, Hazmat Live, Boogs, and many more, picking up support from the likes of Nightmares on Wax, Anja Schneider, Laurent Garnier, Carista, Jennifer Cardini, Dam Swindle, and others.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDub elements are a running theme throughout the latest ‘Contemporary’ installment. Part Four opens with “Speakers Bleed,” a jazz-infused house cut from Oliver and Classic Music Company and Ninja Tune artist Seven ‘Sev’ Davis Jr. Hypnotic vocals blend with deep, groove-laden rhythms, setting the atmospheric and flowing tone of the EP, before Oliver reunites with Golden Gate club resident and longtime collaborator Nils Ohrmann for the Hallelujah Dub of “The New Is Here.” The track features soulful vocals from Detroit songwriter and ‘Contemporary’ series regular APROPOS, as gospel-tinged choirs and rich textures sit atop a contagious percussive rhythm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the flip, “Pill Popper” by Oliver Dollar \u0026amp; Brillstein, from ‘Contemporary Part Two’, is reimagined by La Boix, the duo made up of Thee Mike B (aka Brillstein) and producer Salva, whose credits include work with RL Grime, Kurupt, E-40, and ScHoolboy Q’s Grammy-nominated album, plus remixes for Rihanna, Boys Noize, and Nelly Furtado. Their version is a late-night, deep journey, with keys and vocals getting lost amongst dense basslines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eClosing the EP, Seven Davis Jr. returns with a dub of “Before You,” Oliver’s collaboration with ADMN from ‘Contemporary Part One’.
