Constantly looking for new ways to tell textural stories, the Portuguese producer balances rawness with technical depth.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e‘Teste’ kicks off the record as the most minimal of the collection, setting a grim tone with percussive accents that cut through a cavernous atmosphere. Reminiscent of German club music with rumbling kicks and resonant thumps, Nørbak plays to his strengths by alternating between confrontational sound design and imposing rhythms. Title track ‘Sopro’ maintains the weight of its predecessor, however, the focus shifts to the lead synth line. The Hayes member delves into a hypnotic sequence, bending dissonant keys to ensure a funky pace while keeping things fresh and collected. This stylistic hybridization fits perfectly into ‘Clima’, where Nørbak masterfully retreats into the mind for leisurely percussion over delirious slow-tempo ambiances. A slowly moving bassline cuts through the arrangement like a giant wave with singing snares instigating it, making ‘Clima’ almost ritualistic. The hypnotic touch completes ‘Sopro EP’ in a subtle way and leads to an epic close with ‘Veneta’. Nørbak once again thickens the rhythmic section, with an emphasis on the high end, to describe distant notes that stretch like a landscape. These choppy keys create an intense journey backed by shaky hi-hats throughout, lingering on every transition.
