And as far as starts go, this Heist release will definitely open eyes and ears in the house scene.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eWith her classy, soulful sound firmly rooted in both classic and contemporary deep house, Marina delivers a mature sound rarely seen from upcoming producers. With a clever choice of samples, beautiful original vocals, and smooth pads, Marina crafts her compositions with impressive naturalness, working just as well in your living room as in any energetic club setting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe appropriately titled opener ‘Sunrise’ is a smooth affair with pads gliding in and out, and a vaguely recognizable and definitely catchy choice of samples. An open electronic bass gives the track a serious tone, but it’s the melancholic chords that put you in a daydream, evoking endless days of festivals in the sun.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e‘Carry on’ is built around typical house stabs with arpeggios and clever textures that give the track depth. The main draw here is the trumpet solo by German prodigy Christian Altehülshorst. As far as chance encounters go, this is a good one. Christian (who we knew through mutual friend Lorenz Rhode) was our impromptu trumpet player during a show at La Machine back in 2019, where Marina played alongside us. They got talking and before we knew it, we had this track in our mail. It’s jazzy deep house at its best.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eOn the B-side, we have ‘Over there’, where Marina adds her own vocals over an infectious house groove, and the closing track ‘Wake up’, featuring the emotional vocals of French-Algerian artist Sabrina Bellaouel. This last track revolves around an LFO-modulated pad and a minimalistic groove, leaving all the room for the vocals to shine through in a track that could easily be the one to ignite the dance floor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eAs far as label debuts go, we couldn’t have hoped for a better one.
