Never beholden to any scene in the first place (and even further removed ten years on), these Glaswegians seem to have developed as a band who can take influence from almost anywhere. And when there are seven distinctively individual personalities feeding into the creative fire, the results are varied and often surprising.

Pure pop, 60s psychedelia, 70s rock, West Coast harmonies, beat groups, folk ballads, punk, indie, girl groups and bossa nova are just some of the inclinations that emerge without musical contradiction within the Belles’ own work. So it’s not that surprising that their choices for Late Night Tales should so exhaustively cover the full musical spectrum.

Who chose what is never explicitly made clear, but what is presented is a treasure trove of little musical gems, some in the public domain, but often painstakingly unearthed especially for this occasion and certainly never brought together in this form. Ladies and gentlemen, we present, Belle And Sebastian’s Late Night Tales.

Also includes the following spoken word segment from David Shrigley!

TRACKLIST:

A1 Rehash Gratuitous Theft In The Rain
A2 RJD2 Here's What's Left <a3 lootpack questions>A4 Demis Roussos O My Friends You've Been Untrue To Me </a3>

B1 Stereolab French Disko
B2 Butch Cassidy Sound System Cissy Strut
B3 The Ethiopians Free Man
B4 Mary Love I'm In Your Hands
B5 Novi Singers Cos Specjalnego
B6 Gal Costa Lost In The Paradise

C1 Innerzone Orchestra People Make The World Go Round (Kenny Dixon Jnr Remix)
C2 Donovan Get Thy Bearings
C3 Múm Green Grass Of Tunnel

D1 Belle & Sebastian Cassaco Marron
D2 Space Jam Let Your Conscience Be Your Guidance
D3 Big Star Watch The Sunrise
D4 Boston Baroque Badinerie from Bach's Orchestral Suite No.2 in B Min
D5 David Shrigley When I Was A Little Girl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0583/1239/2867/files/image_2d3d2b96-41ff-428e-baf5-189f5ce05b65.png?v=1735609931
