The EP’s title track is a slow, dubby groove, equally inspired by 90s Ryuichi Sakamoto records and modern G-funk. Over nimble piano, sticky vocoder melodies, and a swirling bass, Megatronic delivers a melancholic message of romantic loss and rebirth, to which J adds a very intimate vocal outro.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eZone 1, an homage to David Morales’ incredible Red Zone remix catalog, moves with insistent analog drums and shamelessly dirty bass, all beneath a fluffy layer of acid-tinged, enveloping synths. Paula’s Dance, meanwhile, proudly wears the influence of Larry Heard, a symphony of intertwining analog machines, capped by an enigmatic and beautiful vocal from Mexican singer Pahua.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eComposed while JKriv was undergoing treatment for lymphoma in late 2024, this record is both deeply personal and a triumphant affirmation of resolve in the face of adversity.
