More than just tweaks, or looping to make the track easier to mix, Danny works his magic applying all those years of studying and working with music as a remixer, producer and DJ. He has been perfecting his craft since this art form began, and seems to have a natural intuition for knowing what works on the dancefloor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen we asked Danny if he'd be interested in re-imagining some tracks from the Mr Bongo catalogue, we knew the edits would be special, but Danny outdid himself with these gems – in fact, you could say they are much more than just edits.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePurely by chance, Danny had already worked on a preliminary personal mix of Sabu Martinez's “Hotel Alyssa-Sousse, Tunisia”, a track taken from the cherished album Afro Temple, originally issued in 1973. It just needed Danny to refresh and tighten it up to the standard he was happy with, and the result is pure Latin fire.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“Lupita”, from 1971, by Belgian-Dutch bandleader Nico Gomez, is an undisputed banger. This underground Latin-crossover favourite has been causing havoc on dancefloors for years. Here Danny takes it to another dimension, adding more drama and build-ups, plus layering new percussion that sounds like it came from lost outtakes of the original recording.
