Today, Crosstown Rebels remains a hub and platform for ever-growing projects within the electronic spectrum, through its sub-label Rebellion and a long list of showcases around the world. More than just a common record label, Crosstown Rebels' legacy has grown alongside its founder, with Damian Lazarus consistently highlighting and supporting artists from across the globe who share his radiant and experimental vision for house music and beyond.

To celebrate this important milestone, 2023 will mark the biggest twelve months to date, as Lazarus and Crosstown will celebrate the label's 20th anniversary with a series of projects to be unveiled in the months leading up to summer, culminating with the release of "CR20 The Album" on May 12, 2023.

"20 years ago, I dreamed of creating a family of like-minded and somewhat crazy individuals from all corners of the planet, releasing music into the world and making people dance. That dream was Crosstown Rebels, and this year we turn 20. Over these years, I have forged beautiful friendships, discovered very talented artists, and tried to help, advise, and support some of the most vibrant characters in dance music. Crosstown Rebels is more than a record label, it's a family.
So 2023 will mark the label's 20th anniversary. This is an opportunity for the Crosstown Rebels family — a global community of artists, DJs, and creatives — and their followers to celebrate this momentous milestone. There will be parties and events around the world, an impressive compilation of exclusive tracks and special remixes, a beautiful coffee table book, a short film, and a special launch event to bring together the images and sounds of the label's unique and influential history. There is much to share, announce, and remember. 20 years and we're still young." — Damian Lazarus

The album includes six high-profile remixes of tracks from the label's catalog, along with two unreleased original tracks. This eight-track package is a rich and exemplary display of the diverse currents that make up the sound of Crosstown Rebels and its global network of artists and close collaborators.

Opening the album, Lazarus's 2020 collaboration with regular Crosstown vocalist Jem Cooke, "Into The Sun," receives a cosmic reinterpretation from Major League DJz from Johannesburg. Jamie Jones then brings new life to his elegant "Paradise 2011" with a hypnotic and enveloping approach by Art Department. Opening the B-side, Dennis Cruz adds his characteristic Latin-percussive sound to Pier Bucci's "Hay Consuelo," while Michael Mayer takes Audiojack and Jem Cooke's "Feel Good" into synthetic territory, building a foundation of captivating, constantly evolving tones.

The second part of the project continues with more excellently remixed material, both new and classic. GRAMMY winner Black Coffee reinterprets the label's first release of 2023, Made By Pete and Zoe Kypri's "Horizon Red," with renewed melodies and shimmering keys, delivering a version that has become a staple in his sets. Then, Adam Ten and Yamagucci present the playful and unconventional "The K Dance," a perfect production for late hours and afterparties. Maceo Plex also participates with "Together (2011 Mix)," an accelerated and energetic journey through melodic synthesizers and vibrant basslines. Finally, Tibi Dabo closes with his minimalist version of Guti and Dubshape's "Every Cow Has A Bird," creating an immersive sound experience with lush pads and crisp percussion.

Along with the album, the 20th-anniversary celebrations will also include a 192-page hardcover book titled "20 Years Of Magic, Madness and Music," with texts by renowned journalist and key underground music figure Joe Muggs, as well as a documentary directed by acclaimed director David Terranova.

Crosstown Rebels has earned a global reputation for hosting some of the best parties in the world, from the mystical cultural journey of Day Zero Tulum to the marathon Get Lost Miami during Music Week.
